SUBIC BAY FREEPORT—Investigators are zeroing in on the business transactions of slain businessman Dominic Sytin, believing these would explain why he was gunned down outside a hotel here on Wednesday night.
Sytin received death threats from people “engaged in the same industry or business,” Chief Supt. Joel Napoleon Coronel, Central Luzon police director, told a news briefing on Friday. He did not elaborate.
Sytin, 51, was the founder and chief executive officer of United Auctioneers Inc., a Subic-based company that auctions off used trucks and heavy equipment.
He was shot dead by a lone gunman outside The Lighthouse Marina Resort. His security aide, who managed to open fire at the gunman, was seriously wounded. —WITH A REPORT FROM JOANNA AGLIBOT
