LOOK: Mugshots of Satur Ocampo, France Castro
Police released on Friday mugshots of former Bayan Muna Rep. Satur Ocampo and ACT Teachers Rep. France Castro, who were arrested with 16 others for allegedly holding 14 minors reportedly to teach them revolutionary ideas against the government.
Their group was on board five vans intercepted Wednesday night at a police and military checkpoint in Talaingod town, Davao Del Norte.
The minors are students of a Salugpungan School in Sitio Dulyan, Palma Gil in Talaingod town.
Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales, director of the Police Regional Office in Davao Region, said the police received complaints that Ocampo and Castro’s camp was taking out the minors almost every night without the consent of their parents.
“There were reports that the children were taught with false ideals at school, far from the mandates of DepEd (Department of Education). Also allegedly, these groups are using the children to be with them to rally against the government,” he said in a statement. /ee
