Dy withdraws gubernatorial bid for Isabela, mends rift with brother
CITY OF ILAGAN — Isabela Rep. Napoleon Dy has mended fences with his brother and has withdrawn his gubernatorial bid on Thursday afternoon (Nov. 29) at the Commission on Elections at the provincial office in Alibagu here.
“Our family is more important than politics so I decided to withdraw my candidacy,” Dy said as he was joined by his brothers, incumbent Governor Faustino Dy III, former governor Faustino Dy Jr., former Cauayan City Mayor Caesar Dy, and businessman Alexander Dy.
Dy had earlier accused Faustino III of misusing government funds, triggering a feud.
His withdrawal left former governor Maria Gracia Cielo Padaca without a running mate as she tangles with Faustino III for the post of vice governor.
Representative Dy was running against fellow Isabela lawmaker Rodolfo Albano III.
