LEGAZPI CITY — Anti-narcotics operatives seized about P1.6 million worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) from two alleged illegal drug couriers here on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Arrested were Mark Erwin Dades, 33, of Muntinlupa City, and Enrico San Jose, 48, of Sto. Tomas, Batangas, said Chief Insp. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, spokesperson of the Bicol police.

Calubaquib said the suspects, on board a Mazda sedan vehicle, were selling illegal drugs to an undercover agent when they were arrested along the road in Purok 1, Barangay Lamba here at around 3:10 p.m.

Seized from the suspects was a large sealed plastic bag containing 200 grams of shabu with a street value of P1.6 million, according to Cotton Talento, spokesperson of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Bicol.

PDEA operatives also held the vehicle used by the suspects in the illegal drug delivery operation, Talento said.

She said the  suspects were considered high-value targets (HVT). /ee
