A man in Batac City, Ilocos Norte landed in jail for stabbing his ex-girlfriend inside a hospital where she sought aid shortly after he allegedly mauled her.
Batac City police officers told INQUIRER.net on Tuesday that victim Kathleen May Rapiz was rushed to the emergency room of the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center last Sunday after she was allegedly mauled by suspect Aldrin Jay Pahinag.
Police said Pahinag who was armed with a knife, still followed Rapiz inside the hospital and stabbed her in different parts of the body in full view of doctors and nurses.
Pahinag, who voluntarily surrendered to police, said he was able to brig the knife to the hospital by hiding it inside an envelope.
According to police, Pahinag admitted having stabbed Rapiz but denied mauling her.
Pahinag who is now under the custody of the Batac police, is facing a complaint of frustrated murder. Police said Rapiz is still confined in the hospital but has been placed out of danger. /muf
