WATCH: 2 teachers killed, 39 students injured as truck falls off cliff in North Cotabato

A netizen was able to capture on video a road accident in Alameda town in North Cotabato as it happened on Saturday that led to the death of two teachers and injured 39 students.

Netizen Yusop Dann Haresh shared on Facebook a video he received from an anonymous sender showing students and teachers from Kabacan National High School aboard a yellow truck cruising along Alameda town.

The group was on their way home after attending a leadership camp in Asik-Asik falls.

The video showed that as the truck turned, it fell into a cliff in Barangay Dado.

Teachers Melanie Iglesias and Tohane Macalipat were killed. Iglesias died on the spot while Macalipat died at the hospital.

Most of the students were brought to the Alamada District Hospital while the truck driver, Jorge Santos, was rushed to the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center.

After the incident, the Department of Education (DepEd) Region XII-SOCCSKARGEN released a memorandum ordering the suspension of all campus activities in the Cotabato division. — With reports from Rhommel Balasbas/Radyo Inquirer
