3 suspected robbers nabbed after Bulacan police chase

CITY OF SAN JOSE DEL MONTE – Police arrested three suspected robbers who were traveling around Barangay (village) Maharlika in a white van on Monday night (Nov. 26).

The police flagged down the van carrying brothers Gilbert and John Jesus Laxamana, and Leonard Barrios, but it sped off at 10:50 p.m., prompting a chase, said Senior Supt. Chito Bersaluna, Bulacan police director

The van was cornered in a dragnet put up by various police units along the Maharlika Road.

The vehicle turned out to be stolen at Balayan town in Batangas province.

Bersaluna said the police seized handguns, ammunition and fragmentation grenades, as well as a bolt cutter, vice grips, screwdrivers, crowbars, and toy guns.

The suspects were also linked to muggings and home invasions in the Bulacan towns of Santa Maria, Marilao, and Guiguinto, and in San Jose Del Monte City.
