Citing prior engagements, businessman Dennis Uy skipped on Tuesday the Senate investigation into the entry of a third telecommunications (telco)  player in the  country.

Uy’s  Udenna Corp. is  part of Mislatel Consortium, which was recently named by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC)  as the the new major telco  player.

In  a letter to the Senate committee on public services  dated  November  26, Uy  promised to “fully cooperate” with the  probe by  providing input or  information that would  help the panel in crafting laws.

“Unfortunately, I will be out of town due to a previously scheduled  commitment,” Uy said.

The businessman  instead sent his chief of staff and Udenna’s Vice President of Corporate Affairs, Adel Tamano, to represent  him in the hearing.

Aside  from  Udenna,   the Mislatel  Consortium  is also  composed of state-run China Telecommunication Forum, and Chelsea Logistics Holdings  Corp. /jpv
