A magnitude 3 earthquake struck near the coast of Zambales on Tuesday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
In its initial bulletin, the Phivolcs reported that the temblor hit 16 kilometers (km) southwest of San Felipe, Zambales, at 7:03 a.m.
The quake of tectonic origin had a depth of 12 km.
There were no reported intensities and no damage or aftershocks could be expected from the earthquake, Phivolcs said. /cbb
