Weather disturbance “Tomas” (international “Man-Yi”) has lost most of its strength and has weakened into a low-pressure area (LPA) before dawn Tuesday, the weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued its last Severe Weather Bulletin at 5 a.m., Tuesday, saying Tomas had withered into an LPA hours earlier at 2 a.m.
Pagasa said the LPA was last located 1,060 km East of Basco, Batanes, and still had no direct effect on the country.
Meanwhile, Pagasa said the northeast monsoon would bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon.
The Metro Manila and the rest of the country will also have partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers but due to localized thunderstorms.
The Pagasa warned the public of possible flashfloods and landslides due to severe thunderstorms. /cbb
