DID YOU KNOW: 2,893 deaths dues to HIV in PH since 1984

From January 1984 to August 2018, there were 2,893 deaths among people with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) nationwide, according to the Department of Health.

Ninety percent, or 2,614, were male.

Fifteen percent, or 438, were aged between 15 and 24 years old.

In August 2018 alone, 159 deaths among people with HIV were reported. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
