Typhoon “Tomas,” internationally known as “Man-Yi,” reached the borderline of the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Saturday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
As of 3 p.m., Tomas was slowly moving northeast at 1,515 km east of Aparri, Cagayan.
The typhoon had maximum sustained winds of 145 kph and gustiness reaching up to 180 kph.
However, Pagasa said the typhoon still had “no effect” on the country.
It also noted that the typhoon would weaken and exit the PAR by Thursday, Nov. 29. /atm
