Drug pusher under probation nabbed in Iligan City drug buy-bust

ILIGAN CITY — A suspected drug pusher, recently out of jail on probation, was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation past 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, in Purok 12, Barangay Tambacan here.

Police said Jamalodin Saidali Ampaso, 25, also known in the area as ‘Opaw,’ had been released from Iligan City jail six months ago after he was put on probation.

Senior Inspector James Daleon, commander of the Iligan City Police Station 4, said Ampaso was first arrested earlier this year in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Saray.

Recovered from him in the recent buy-bust were two big packs and four small sachets of suspected “shabu,” (crystal meth) the P500 marked money, 38-mm caliber pistol, and other drug paraphernalia.

Police said Ampaso would face charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunition.
