Lacson on Locsin’s confirmation: ‘Easier than singing in the shower’
A nod from the Commission on Appointment (CA) on the appointment of Teddy Boy Locsin as secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) might be “easier than singing in the shower,” Senator Panfilo Lacson said Friday.
Locsin’s appointment paper was signed by President Rodrigo Duterte on October 17. Locsin will be replacing Alan Peter Cayetano, who was deemed resigned after filing his candidacy as representative of Taguig City’s first district.

“DFA Secretary Teddy Boy Locsin’s appointment is up for the Commission on Appointment’s confirmation next week. As chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee, I think it will be easier than singing in the shower,” Lacson said in a tweet.

The powerful Commission on Appointments had previously rejected some appointees of the President, including former Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto Yasay Jr., former Environment Secretary Gina Lopez, former Social Welfare Secretary Judy Taguiwalo, former Agrarian Reform Secretary Rafael Mariano, and former Health Secretary Paulyn Ubial.
Locsin served as the country’s permanent representative to the United Nations since April 2017 prior to his appointment to the DFA. /muf
