Security tightened at Veterans’ hospital

MANILA, Philippines – Despite the extension granted by the Pasay regional trial court Branch 112 for former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s stay at St. Luke’s Medical Center, security at the government-owned Veterans Memorial Medical Center has been tightened Monday, a 990AM report said.

The report said that with the security measures doubled inside the hospital, members of the media were barred from entering the hospital by security guards.

Reporters were forced to wait outside the hospital gates, it added.

The Pasay court gave Arroyo until Friday to be transferred to the VMMC from St. Luke’s Medical Center in Taguig.

The former president was arrested last November 18 on charges of electoral sabotage but has since been confined at St. Luke’s Medical Center.

For more of the report, listen to Radyo Inquirer 990AM.
