Two men died in separate incidents in Navotas City on Tuesday, one from a road accident and the other from stabbing during a drinking session.
Mark Anthony Cabulao Pagatpat, 38, was biking along R-1 road in Barangay NBBS at 6 a.m. on Tuesday when a dump truck bumped the rear of his bike.
The dump truck dragged Pagatpat, who sustained serious injuries. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Tondo Medical Center.
Altercation
In Barangay Navotas West, Sandy Ramos, 35, was drinking with several people near his home at 4 p.m. on Tuesday when an altercation erupted within the group.
Suspect Tom Joshua Macahilig reportedly drew a kitchen knife and stabbed Ramos once in the upper right chest.
Witnesses said Ramos managed to run to an alley to seek help but lost consciousness and died.
The suspect fled, taking the knife with him, before the police could respond some 30 minutes later.
Driver identified
The dump truck driver, who later sought medical treatment at the Navotas City Hospital, was identified as Estevan Caballero Balbiran, 37, of Barangay Punungyanan, General Trias, Cavite.
Both Pagatpat’s and Ramos’ bodies were brought to the Northern Police District’s crime laboratory for autopsy.
The dump truck is registered to Sinoequip Inc.
The wrecked bike and the truck were brought to an impounding area in Navotas.
