Classes in the Visayas and Mindanao were suspended on Wednesday as Tropical Depression “Samuel” moves closer to the central and southern regions of the country.
The regional offices of the affected schools announced the suspension of classes following the threat of Samuel, which is packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 65 kph.

As of 4 p.m., the state weather bureau said Samuel was last spotted 250 kilometers east of Maasin City in Southern Leyte. /ee
