A Japanese man was arrested earlier this November after being suspected of fatally stabbing his Filipino ex-girlfriend at a restaurant in Shizuoka Prefecture, Chūbu region of Honshu.
The 45-year-old man, Yasumasa Yamaguchi, reportedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend Rowena Casimiro Haga, 48 years old, on Nov. 1. As per The Japan Times on Nov. 2, the stabbing incident happened at 11:20 p.m., at a restaurant in Hamamatsu which the two used to go to.
Haga was found on the floor of the restaurant with multiple stab wounds on her chest when a paramedic came to her aid. As per various reports, Haga died from her injuries.
Last June, authorities issued a warning on Yamaguchi not to approach Haga, following an incident wherein he tried to forcibly enter her home.
Yamaguchi and Haga were known to have dated in the past, although they ended their relationship on the same month. As per The Mainichi on Nov. 2, Yamaguchi had begged Haga to return to him, persistently calling her and sending her e-mails. Yamaguchi was given the warning after Haga sought help from local authorities for being stalked by him. Cody Cepeda/JB
