PNP names new CIDG chief, reshuffles other officers

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has installed a new director of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) as it also reshuffled some key officers in the police agency.

Chief Supt. Amador Corpus, chief of the PNP in Central Luzon, was appointed as CIDG chief, replacing Police Director Roel Obusan who is set to retire Tuesday (Nov. 20).

Chief Supt. Joel Napoleon Coronel will be the new Regional Director of the PNP in Central Luzon, PNP Spokesperson Chief Supt. Benigno Durana Jr. confirmed in a text message Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Chief Supt. Dennis Basngi will be assigned as the new Deputy Regional Director for Operations of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), Chief Supt. Amando Empiso as NCRPO’s Deputy Regional Director for Administration, Senior Supt. Manuel Abu as Deputy of the Special Action Force, and Senior Supt. Adolfo Samala Jr. as Directorate for Human Resource and Doctrine Development. /jpv
