TRIKE DRIVER KILLED IN TALISAY

A TRISIKAD driver was shot dead by two motorcycle-riding men in barangay Central Biasong, Talisay City, southern Cebu, last Saturday afternoon.

Adonis Amaquin sustained a fatal gunshot wound.

Police said Amaquin had a drinking session with friends at a store owned by by barangay tanod chief Eddie Naranjo.

Amaquin and a friend, Loreto Traya, 43, decided to go home ahead.

Amaquin drove his trisikad on his way home.

Several meters from the store, two men on a motorcycle drove beside the trisikad and shot Amaquin.

MAN SHOT DEAD IN CEBU CITY

A 23-YEAR-OLD man was shot dead by three men last Saturday night in barangay Kinasang-an, Cebu City.

Police said the gunmen may have mistaken Chester Aldaya to be a gang member.

It was possible that the assailants were members of a rival gang.

Police said Aldaya and his girlfriend were talking by the roadside when three men arrived at 11:45 p.m. and shot Aldaya in the leg.

Aldaya ran but the assailants chased him and shot him several times.

The assailants fled when Aldaya slumped on the ground.

Aldaya was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center where attending doctors declared him dead.

KOREAN DIES IN CEBU CITY HOTEL

A 53-YEAR-OLD Korean national died while having a massage inside his hotel room in barangay Lahug, Cebu City last Saturday night.

Police identified the fatality as Hyoyoung Chung.

Police said Chung was a guest of a hotel in Salinas Drive where he requested for a massage.

The massage therapist told police that they were about to start the massage session when the Korean collapsed on his bed.

The massage therapist informed the hotel staff of the incident.

Paramedics from the Emergency Response Unit Foundation (ERUF) arrived and brought Chung to the Perpetual Succour Hospital where the Korean was declared dead by attending physicians.

Police said the Korean had no external injuries that would indicate foul play. There were also no signs of struggle inside Chung’s room.

The body was brought to the Cebu Rolling Hills in Mandaue City for autopsy, said police./CORRESPONDENT RHEA RUTH V. ROSELL
