‘Shabu-swallowing’ Grab driver arrested in QC buy-bust

Policemen have collared a Grab driver during a buy-bust operation in Cubao, Quezon City, and said the suspect even tried to hide the evidence by swallowing some sachets of suspected “shabu.”

Authorities said Kristofer Jay Gavino, 37, was arrested in an apartelle along P. Tuazon Boulevard, Barangay San Roque, around 9 p.m. Sunday.

A report from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said Gavino was arrested after selling shabu to an undercover agent. Police said a barangay kagawad was present during the operation.

Police said even if the suspect ingested a still undetermined number of sachets of alleged shabu, they managed to seize from him nine sachets of the illegal drug. Also confiscated from the suspect was the P500 marked money used in the drug sting and a cellphone.
