05:00 AM November 19, 2018

Global Warming and Climate Change Consciousness Week is observed from Nov. 19 to 25 by virtue of Proclamation No. 1667 signed on Nov. 18, 2008, by then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Realizing the gravity and immediate threat of extreme changes occurring in the world’s temperature, the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Global Warming and Climate Change was created in August 2008. In 2009, Republic Act 9279 or the Climate Change Act of 2009 was passed. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
