BREAK: SUV falls from elevated parking space in San Juan

The father-in-law of Senator Grace Poe was reportedly injured after his sport utility vehicle fell from an elevated parking space at a shopping mall in San Juan City on Sunday morning.

Senior Superintendent Dindo Reyes, chief of the San Juan City police, confirmed that the driver of the black Toyota Innova that fell from the third level of a parking lot in a Greenhills shopping mall is Teodoro Paraiso Llamanzares.

Llamanzares, 83, was the sole passenger of the vehicle when the incident happened at 9:45 a.m.

According to the spot report, Llamanzares was about to park at the third level, Parking 4, Promenade when the vehicle suddenly accelerated and crashed into the railings.

Llamanzares was rushed to Cardinal Santos Medical Center following the incident for medical treatment.

Police said no other casualties were reported from the incident. The vehicle has since been removed from the area. /ee
