LUCENA CITY – Eight suspected shabu pushers were arrested in a raid and a series of buy-bust operations in different municipalities in Quezon province on Friday, police said Saturday.
Anti-illegal drugs operatives armed with a search warrant nabbed Melinda Calapini at her house in Barangay (village) Paiisa in Tiaong town around 11:30 p.m. She yielded 12 sachets of shabu weighing a total of 4.5 grams with an estimated street value of P30,600, said Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman, Quezon police director.
Earlier, authorities also collared Argel Reyes in a buy-bust operation in the same village at around 11 p.m. Reyes yielded less than one gram of shabu.
Anti-narcotic agents also busted alleged shabu pushers Alvin Galang and Mark Joseph Maulion in Candelaria; Jayson Fabre in Sariaya; Reynante Quinan in Gumaca; Wilson De la Peña and Jessica Revelar in Tayabas City in separate buy-bust operations.
The arrested suspects are identified drug pushers in their respective localities based on information provided by concerned citizens and rehabilitated drug users, police said. /muf
