CABANATUAN CITY – The man accused of sexually assaulting a 3-year-old girl in this Nueva Ecija city was arrested on Thursday night in Pampanga province.
Ariel Viquierra, 37, said he was too drunk to remember what happened after security cameras recorded him carrying the girl toward his house in Barangay (village) Sabermecisti at 1:28 p.m. on Tuesday. The girl’s mother discovered her daughter bleeding when she followed them.
Viquierra disappeared, but the Nueva Ecija police’s first provincial mobile force (1PMFC) tracked him down to a house at Sta. Ana town in Pampanga where he was captured at 9:30 p.m., said Supt. Alexander Aurelio, 1PMFC chief.
Viquierra was supposed to serve as the sponsor at the girl’s baptism. He is facing a charge of statutory rape.
