CAPAS, TARLAC – Two men died in a hospital on Thursday after drinking lambanog (coconut liquor), which might have been laced with poison, police said Friday.
Police said Edelito Sicat, 44, and Edgardo Sicat, 69, had shared lambanog drinks with six relatives and friends around 11:30 a.m. November 14 in Barangay (village) Aranguren, and then complained of severe headaches and dizziness, along with Zoren Sicat, 27, and Jasper Sicat, 18, the following day, November 15.
The four men were rushed to different hospitals in Tarlac.
Police forensic investigators, however, have yet to determine if there was poison in the lambanog.
Police said Randy Tiamzon, 42, provided the lambanog, which he purchased from Magalang town in Pampanga province on November 2. /muf
