Bomb threat hits Reedley International School in Pasig

Classes at the Reedley International School in Barangay Ugong, Pasig City were disrupted on Friday after the school receptionist received a text message warning that an explosive had been planted inside a student’s bag.

“Your school is going down in a few hours. An explosive was sneaked inside your building early this morning at around 6:45 a.m. to 7 a.m. via a student’s bag,” a text message from an anonymous person and released through the Eastern Police District (EPD) read.

Police said the text message was sent at around 8:52 a.m.

Personnel from the Pasig City Police Station 10 responded to the school to validate the report. Members of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team and a K9 unit were also deployed  to the campus to conduct an inspection.

The school’s 9th and 10th floors were also checked and were cleared of suspected explosives as of 1:17 p.m. Inspection is still ongoing on other floors as of this posting, according to EPD.

Students and teachers are currently at the barangay’s covered court as police personnel continue with the inspection.  /muf
