Over P1.8-M worth of ‘shabu’ seized in Pasig City

Seven drug suspects yielded several bags of “shabu” (crystal meth) worth over P1.8 million in a buy-bust operation in Pasig City late Wednesday.

A report from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said the suspects were arrested during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Rosario, Pasig City at around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The suspects were identified as Deogracias Baǹares Jr., 45; Henribel Alib, 40; Victorio Mediario, 50; Jade Gaut, 24; Ronald Francisco, 34; Jaberto Maglasang, 41; Jaberto Maglasang, 27. They were all arrested inside a suspected drug den at Rodriguez Compound in Barangay Rosario.

The police seized 21 sachets of shabu with a combined estimated weight of 270 grams. It has a street value of approximately P1,836,000.

The police also confiscated a bundle of marked money worth P60,000 for the 25 grams of shabu sold to the undercover agent in the buy-bust operation.

Police said they will be filing charges against the suspects for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The suspects and the seized evidence were brought to the Crime Laboratory Office for examination and drug testing. /ee
