Tricycle driver hunted for rape of girl, 3, in Cabanatuan

CABANATUAN CITY — A 37-year-old tricycle driver has become the subject of a manhunt for the rape of a three-year-old girl in Barangay Sanbermicristi here on Tuesday.

Ariel Viquiera left his home before authorities confirmed the sexual attack on the daughter of his friend, who was drunk and had fallen asleep at the time, according to village chief Venancio Canosa.

Security cameras caught Viquiera carrying the girl to his house in Purok 1 around 1:28 p.m. Tuesday. Ten minutes later, the girl’s 26-year-old mother followed them and discovered that her daughter was bleeding.

“As soon as we confirmed from medical experts that the girl was raped, we immediately proceeded to the house of [Viquiera] but he had escaped,” Canosa said. /kga
