La Union town mayor, vice mayor ambushed

The mayor and vice mayor of Balaoan, La Union, were ambushed while on their way to the municipal hall on Wednesday morning.

Mayor Aleli Concepcion and Vice Mayor Al-fred Concepcion were shot multiple times by five unknown gunmen in a barangay in Balaoan, according to reports from dzMM.

Authorities are still investigating the incident, while the two officials have been rushed to a hospital for treatment. /cbb
