Drug suspect killed in Laguna buy-bust
SAN PEDRO CITY — An illegal drug suspect was killed in a buy- bust operation in Calauan, Laguna early on Tuesday.
Senior Supt. Eleazar Matta, Laguna police director, identified the slain suspect as Jerby Malaki, alias “Fetus.”
In a text message, Matta said Police Officer 2 Deo Mark Mitra went undercover to buy a sachet of suspected shabu (crystal meth) from Malaki.
He said the suspect must have noticed Mitra making hand signals to his back up. This prompted him run to his motorcycle and draw a gun.The suspect fired as he tried to drive away, prompting the policemen to return fire during the brief chase.
Malaki was hit and rushed to the provincial hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
