Son hacks father to death in Kalinga

BAGUIO CITY—A 64-year-old farmer was hacked to death reportedly by his own son on Monday (Nov. 12) in Pasil town in Kalinga province, according to the Cordillera police.

The incident happened at 8:30 p.m. when victim Luis Donato berated his 22-year-old son Julius for wielding a bolo for no reason in Pugong village.

Police said after a heated exchange, Julius struck his father three times in the head, near the left ear.

The victim was rushed by his neighbors to a Rural Health Unit (RHU) but he was declared dead on arrival by his attending physician.

Julius was turned over to the authorities by the suspect’s relatives. /jpv
