DID YOU KNOW: 146th birth anniversary of Arcadio Arellano

Today, Nov. 13, is the 146th birth anniversary of the late architect Arcadio Arellano.

Born in Tondo, Manila, he obtained his degree from the Ateneo Municipal de Manila.

He opened an architect and surveyor’s office, the first of its kind in the country.

He was put in charge of the Intramuros assessments in 1901 and also served as a councilor of the city.

He designed the Mausoleum of the Veterans of the Revolution in Manila North Cemetery and the Gota de Leche building, a heritage site in Sampaloc, Manila.
