Guns, ammo seized from retired cop

Operatives from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) have seized four guns, a hand grenade, and bullets for various guns from a retired police officer in Caloocan City.

Reports from the NCRPO stated that PO3 German Riogelon, also known through the aliases “Jun Muslim” and “Boy Muslim,” was arrested early Monday morning by elements of the Regional Special Operations Unit (RSOU) implementing a search warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 130 in Caloocan City.

Police recovered a modified 5.56 mm caliber Colt AR-15 M16 rifle with a loaded magazine, an Armscor .45 caliber pistol with a magazine, another Armscor .45 caliber pistol with an extended magazine, and a .38 caliber revolver from Riogelon’s residence in Pangarap Village, Barangay 181 in Caloocan.

Aside from the firearms, a hand grenade, two magazines for 9mm handguns; ammunition for .45 caliber (60 pieces), 9mm (59 pieces), .38 caliber (6 pieces), 5.56 mm rifle (20 pieces); a holster; and an ammunition box were confiscated from the suspect.

Riogelon will be facing raps for violating certain sections of R.A. 10591 or The Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013, PD 1866 or the Laws on Illegal Possession, Manufacture of Firearms and Explosives as amended by Sections 3 and 4 of R.A. 9516. /ee
