Maj. Gen. Erwin Bernard Neri, a former head of Task Force Davao, has been designated as the new commander of the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP).
Before his new appointment, Neri was the deputy of Lt. Gen. Macairog Alberto, who served as ISAFP chief before he was appointed by President Duterte as commanding general of the Philippine Army.
After Alberto assumed his post to lead the Army last Oct. 15, Neri headed the ISAFP in an acting capacity. A formal turnover is scheduled this week, according to AFP public affairs chief Col. Noel Detoyato.
Neri, a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1988, also served as commander of the 1001st Brigade in Compostela Valley before he was designated as deputy ISAFP chief. /ee
