Village councilman shot dead in Isabela

BURGOS, Isabela – A 69-year-old village councilman was shot dead by one of two motorcycle riders at 6:30 a.m. on Monday along the provincial road in Barangay (village) San Antonio, police said.

Leonardo Albano, a Caliguian village official here, was on his bicycle when he was shot several times with a hand gun, hitting his cheek and wrist.

He was declared dead at the Manuel Roxas District Hospital.

The police have yet to determine why he was killed. /cbb
