A magnitude 3.0 earthquake hit the province of Batangas early Monday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs recorded the epicenter of the quake 11 kilometers southwest of Calatagan, Batangas, at 3:43 a.m.
The agency noted that no damage to property and aftershocks were expected from the tremor.
No intensities were also monitored by Phivolcs from the tremor that had a depth of focus of 167 kilometers and of tectonic origin. /cbb
