Driver shot dead in Lucena

LUCENA CITY – A driver was shot dead by a still unidentified gunman in this city early Saturday, police said.

A police report said Ghifrie Balaguer, 33, was about to board his van when the suspect suddenly approached the victim and without any apparent reason repeatedly shot him using a caliber .45 pistol in Barangay (village) Cotta at 2:40 a.m.

The suspect hurriedly escaped after the shooting, leaving the victim dead on the spot.
