The northeasterly surface windflow that affects the Northern Luzon and the easterlies that affects the eastern section of Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, will bring cloudy skies and isolated rainshower, the state weather bureau said on Saturday.

The Batanes and the Babuyan group of islands will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to  the northeasterly surface windflow, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms, meanwhile, will be the prevailing weather system over Eastern and Central Visayas and Caraga.

Pagasa warned the residents in the said portions of Visayas and Caraga to prepare for possible flooding and landslides due to severe thunderstorms.

The Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms. /jpv
