P680K worth of ‘shabu’ seized in Camarines Sur buy-bust

LEGAZPI CITY – Operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) confiscated P680,000 worth of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) in a drug operation on Friday morning in Baao town in Camarines Sur province.

Cotton Talento, PDEA Bicol spokesperson, said Jonathan Masi, alias “Manoy/Jun,” 38, of Barangay (village) Sagrada, Baao, was collared by PDEA operatives while selling shabu to an undercover agent along the national road in Zone 2, Barangay San Juan at 8:35 a.m.

Seized from the suspect was some 100 grams of suspected shabu worth about P680,000 kept in two plastic bags.

Following a separate drug operation in Daraga town in Albay province on Thursday night where P340,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized from another drug peddler, Talento said PDEA agents were “able to confiscate 150 grams of shabu worth P1.02 million” within a 12-hour period of drug operations in the two provinces.

In Albay, Joseph Sahagun of Nabua town, also in Camarines Sur, was nabbed by PDEA operatives in a drug buy-bust operation at Barangay Binitayan in Daraga Thursday night.

Talento said Masi is considered a high-value target as he supplies illegal drugs to a group of drug peddlers operating in the fifth congressional district of Camarines Sur covering the towns of Baao, Balatan, Bato, Buhi, Bula, Nabua and Iriga City.
