Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos on Friday said she has yet to receive details of the Sandiganbayan’s guilty verdict against her mother, former First Lady and Ilocos Norte Rep. Imelda Marcos, on graft charges.
Imelda has been found guilty of seven counts of graft by the Sandiganbayan’s Fifth Division on Friday morning.
Asked to comment, Imee said: “Wala eh wala pa akong detalye pasensya, tinatanong ko,” after the ceremonial pledge of alliance of political parties in Quezon City.
Imee then proceeded to entertain picture-taking with her supporters and avoid further questions from the media.
In its decision, the anti-graft court said Imelda is sentenced to imprisonment of six years to one month up to 11 years for each count over violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act when she transferred around $200 million to seven Swiss foundations during her term as Metro Manila governor in 1975, Minister of Human Settlement, and member of the Batasang Pambansa.

Mrs. Marcos is also declared perpetually disqualified from holding any public office, although she can still continue her gubernatorial bid in Ilocos Norte as her camp can still file a motion for reconsideration. /kga
