Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Oscar Albayalde on Friday visited the PNP Academy (PNPA) amid the “oral sex scandal” that saw the relief of the academy’s director.
Albayalde is in police academy for a visit and dialogue with the cadets, according to the PNP Public Information Office.
Chief Supt. Benigno Durana Jr., PNP Spokesperson said Albayalde is expected to discuss issues involving the PNPA, including the alleged oral sex scandal.
“Of course, ‘yung (the) oral sex controversy [might also be discussed],” he told reporters in a chance interview.
He said Albayalde also wants to listen to the cadets and also hear the plans of newly-appointed director Chief Supt. Chiquito Malayo for the academy.
Malayo replaced Chief Supt. Joseph Andol as PNPA director. Andol was axed by Albayalde in October over the alleged oral sex incident.

According to Durana, Albayalde’s visit also aims to “inspire and encourage” the cadets, since the impression they have received due to the controversy might have caused some impact on their morale.
He said the visit is also an indication of the PNP’s “strong desire” to take full responsibility of the training of the cadets.
The PNPA is currently under the Philippine Public Safety College, which is under the Department of the Interior and Local Government. /muf
