Sotto reminds Filipinos to reflect on lessons of ‘Yolanda’

After Typhoon “Yolanda” devastated Central Visayas five years ago, Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III has reminded Filipinos to “reflect” on the lessons left by typhoon.

“Yolanda will always be remembered because it awakened our consciousness that the fury of nature spares no one,” Sotto said in a statement on Thursday.

“After five years, let us all remember our countrymen who lost their lives on that terrifying day. Moving forward, we should reflect on the lessons it left us,” he added.

Yolanda left more than 7,300 people dead or missing, flattened entire villages, swept vessels inland and displaced more than 5 million people after it devastated Central Visayas on November 8, 2013.  /muf
