A magnitude 3.4 quake swayed Capoocan, Leyte on Thursday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
In an update posted on its website, Phivolcs said the earthquake hit at 11:43 a.m., five kilometers northwest of Capoocan.
The tremor, Philvolcs noted, was of tectonic origin and had a kilometer depth.
No aftershocks and damage were expected after the earthquake, Phivolcs said. /je
