Suspected drug pusher slain in Lucena buy-bust

LUCENA CITY – An alleged drug pusher was killed in a buy-bust operation here noontime Wednesday.

Neil Arangoste, 28, sold P500 worth of shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer inside the suspect’s house in Barangay Dalahican around 11:40 a.m., said a report from Supt. Reydante Ariza, chief of the Lucena police.

But while a policeman was implementing the arrest, the suspect allegedly ran to his bedroom, took his caliber .38-revolver and fired at the arresting officer, but missed.
Another policeman returned fire and hit the suspect who died on the spot, according to the report.

Police said Arangoste, who was included in the drug watch list, had been the subject of complaints by residents for his illegal drugs activities.

On Monday night, another alleged drug pusher was also killed in a buy-bust operation in the same coastal village after he shot the arresting police officer but also missed.
Another operative shot back and killed the suspect.  /kga
