IN THE KNOW: Who is Michael Yang?

Chinese national Michael Yang, also known as Yang Hong Ming, identified himself as an economic adviser of President Rodrigo Duterte.

On Oct. 9, the President denied that Yang was his adviser saying “he cannot be because he’s a Chinese.”

Yang is based in Davao City and owns the Los Amigos stores.

The President, however, defended Yang from accusations of involvement in drugs.
