A 5.5-magnitude earthquake jolted Davao Occidental on Tuesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
In its initial earthquake bulletin, the Phivolcs reported that the quake originated 181 kilometers (km) southwest of Sarangani, Davao Occidental, at 10:09 a.m.
The quake, which was tectonic in origin, had a depth of 68 km.
No aftershock or damage could be expected from the tremblor, the Phivolcs said. /jpv
