2 drug suspects nabbed in Mandaluyong City

Two drug suspects in Mandaluyong City were arrested Monday after the police chanced upon them using suspected “shabu” (crystal meth).

Operatives of the Special Operation Unit and the Station Intelligence Branch arrested Benjamin Nuñez, 44, and Edgardo Fernandez, 47, along Block 37 Welfare Ville in Barangay Addition Hills at around 2:00 a.m., according to a report from the Mandaluyong police.

Police said they were conducting operations against two of the most wanted persons in the city when they chanced upon the suspects in possession of two sachets of suspected illegal drugs in the area.

The suspects were taken to the Mandaluyong City Police Station. Drug charges are also being prepared against them for inquest proceedings before the Mandaluyong City Prosecutor’s Office. /je
