The B-Meg Llamados stretched their winning run to six after escaping the Barako Bull Energy, 91-90, last night in the 37th PBA Philippine Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

Barako Bull rallied from double digit deficits and successfully wrested the lead when Willie Miller hit a basket with 13.7 seconds left.

Mark Barroca saved the Llamados from the jaws of defeat when he made the game-winning layup in the final 4.3 seconds. The layup capped Barroca’s game-long brilliance as he topped the Llamados with 18 points.

James Yap scored 15, PJ Simon tallied 13, while Joe De Vance and Kerby Raymundo added 12 each for the Llamados who tied the Petron Blaze Boosters at second place with similar 9-4 (win-loss) records.

The Talk N Text Tropang Texters lead the standings with an 8-3 (win-loss) record. The Texters were still playing the Alaska Aces as of press time.

Miller led the Energy with 25 points, while Danny Seigle pumped in 22 points, Dorian Peña and Dylan Ababou contributed 11 and 10 markers, respectively.

Barako Bull dropped to 6-6.

B-Meg and Barako Bull are two of the seven teams already assured of a spot in the playoffs. Also in the playoffs are Talk N Text, Petron, Meralco, Rain or Shine and Barangay Ginebra.

Alaska and Powerade are contesting the final playoff spot.

A loss by Alaska last night against Talk N Text will mean elimination while automatically sending the Tigers to the playoffs.

First to be eliminated were the Shopinas.com Clickers, who have yet to win a single game after 12 outings.
