MPD: 4 major Manila cemeteries got nearly 115K All Souls’ Day visitors
Almost 115,000 visitors paid their respects to departed kin at Manila’s four major cemeteries on Friday, All Souls’ Day, the Manila Police District said.
Figures from MPD District Tactical Operations Center showed that as of 11 a.m., 113,855 visitors have entered the Manila North Cemetery and the La Loma Cemetery, both in Santa Cruz; the Manila South Cemetery in Makati City and the Manila Chinese Cemetery.
Among the four cemeteries, the Manila North Cemetery had the most visitors at 89,029.
Meanwhile, the Manila South Cemetery had 19,426 visitors; followed by La Loma Cemetery with 4,900 visitors; and Manila Chinese Cemetery with 500 visitors.
For All Souls’ Day, police have seized from cemetery visitors four bladed weapons, 10 flammable objects and 15 packs of cigarettes. /muf
